Barbed Wire Kisses


Given the title of this blog, one might think that I am about to talk about the seminal 80s album Barbed Wire Kisses by the Jesus and Mary Chain. While I do love that album, this post has nothing to do with it. Sorry Reid brothers.

The post literally features barbed wire, specifically the photos that I seem to take of barbed wire fencing (and its younger brother the electric fence) while out riding and hiking. Admittedly the title of the post is taken from the album, because I have a hard time seeing barbed wire without thinking of it.

A Week In The Saddles


I spent the past week getting in some (junk) miles on various bikes (the Boone Disc 5 and the Procaliber 9.8 SL), and on various terrains (pavement, singletrack, and gravel roads). I also used a variety of cameras: the Fuji X-T10 and Fuji X100s on my gravel and road rides, and the Canon s95 in the woods. As per usual I shot everything in RAW and edited in Lightroom.

Back In The Saddle


It’s been literally weeks since I last posted anything here. That time has been spent moving house, going to my son’s soccer matches, home repairs, doing a variety of freelance gigs–including the building of, and maintaining of the soccer club’s site– and trying to squeeze in some miles on the dirt roads, and even a little singletrack.
