Summer Riding

This spring and summer has been a busy one for me and my family. There’s been soccer tournaments, tryouts, and camps for my son. We bought a home, sold a home, and moved. I’ve been going to physical therapy two to three times a week in the attempt to conquer an ongoing hip and back issue, and still trying to squeeze some rides in, mostly on Michigan dirt roads. I’ve also been trying to shoot some photos nearly every day (with varying degrees of success).

During the past few months I’ve also bought, sold, and am selling some cameras: My Fuji X-T10 crapped out, and was denied a warranty by Fuji. But then they accidentally sent me a replacement and disposed of my old one (sucks for them). In the meantime I sold my Fuji X100s and bought a Nikon 7100 DSLR.

I am also preparing to get rid of the nearly brand new Fuji X-T10. I love, love, LOVED the X-T10, but it seems that a weather sealed body such as the X-T1 would better suited for my ride and shoot lifestyle. Then Fuji announced the X-T2, so my plan is to sell my X-T10 body and pick that up in the fall. I also plan to sell some of my film cameras to help finance this. I really dug shooting with film again, but at the end of the day it’s just too much hassle and expense these days. So they’ll be going .

Right now we are in the midst of a long heat wave here in Michigan, rides have been short, but fairly consistent. I’ve been shooting almost exclusively with the D7100 since June and have grown to really dig it. The photos here are some of what I’ve captured over the past few weeks.

Thanks for looking.
