Salvaging A Ride

My ride this past Wednesday was extremely lackluster. I didn’t eat a proper breakfast (a hard boiled egg, coffee, and some almonds), and my legs were just dead. The air was thick, the sun was hot, and I had nothing. I thought that the initial mile of climbing would wake my legs up, but it only served to make it feel worse.

10 miles into the ride and I knew that my normal 25-35 mile gravel ride was in NO way going to happen. So as not to waste my time, I settled in, pedaled slowly and stopped often to snap some photos, all the while thinking of the bowl of Mexican Pulled Pork & Brown Rice that was waiting for me to make up when got home. There is no need to blather on about how shit I felt, so I will just post some of the photos I took with my Nikon D500 and the Sigma 17-70mm f2.8 lens. They are best viewed on computer monitor or pad.

Thanks for looking.
